Hi

It seems that this forum has been a bit quiet recently so not sure if anyone is still out there but as i am just starting my barefoot journey to fitness and wellbeing i thought i would post anyway (even if i do end up only reading it back to myself!)
I live in Yorkshire (UK) and despite being very active in my youth and 20’s, i did very little active stuff for the last ten years and have just hit 40.
Like many i read ‘Born to Run’ and have become fascinated to discover if barefoot running could help me.
I played lots of football and after a couple of exploratory knee ops was told the cartilage in my knees was damaged. Apparently, if i was a professional footballer, they would have fixed it for me!

Anyway, i have decided to embark on a process of getting fit with the aim to complete a half marathon and a sprint triathlon in 2016.
The first step starts tomorrow with my first barefoot run.
I have spent the last few weeks doing quite a lot of barefoot walking(and now understand what the books and forums mean when they say barefoot burn!).

My initial aim will be to do a few short barefoot explorations on some off road lanes near my house over the coming weeks and to report back on how i do as i build up not only the stamina, but also the technique.

Wish me luck!!!
